Shaping Our Climate Future: Innovation in Climate Education

Human driven climate change is a complex issue that affects every aspect of society, requiring a holistic understanding across multiple disciplines like the natural, social, and health sciences, and the humanities to effectively address its causes and impacts, develop comprehensive solutions, and foster informed decision-making for future generations. Climate change is a "wicked problem" requiring innovative solutions that involve collaboration across disciplines.

This event will bring together science, policy, and health experts to share insights and engage in a broad discussion regarding the needs and opportunities for holistic and innovative climate education and planetary health in academia. Speakers include

  • Hannah Pingree, Director of Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future

  • Robert Lawrence, Founding Director of the Center for a Livable Future at Johns Hopkins University

  • Fiona Wilson, Chief Sustainability Officer and Executive Director of the Sustainability Institute at University of New Hampshire

  • The panel will be moderated by Cameron Wake (Director, 51°µÍø North)
